In partnership with Lions in Sight of California and Nevada and with grants from the Lions Clubs International Foundation, the San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club, in cooperation with other clubs in District 4-C4 and Multiple District 301 (Philippines), founded the first Lions Eye Clinic in the Philippines. This and others clinics founded later serve as distribution points for recycled eyeglasses shipped from the United States, providing a much needed service to very underprivileged communities. They also serve as collection points for donated eyeglasses from local Lions Clubs, continuing the cycle and gaining self sufficiency in our service to those with visual deficiencies.

Revival of Philippines Lions in Sight

In our January 2018 Medical Mission, the San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club in conjunction with several other clubs founded the second Lions in Sight Eye Clinic in the Philippines, at the Provincial Health Office of Nueva Vizcaya in the province's capital city, Bayombong. This clinic is now in full operation under the jurisdiction of the Nueva Vizcaya Tribu Vizcayano Lions Club, with LIS reporting and inbound shipments being facilitated by the San Francisco Nueva Vizcaya Lions Club.
