Health Fairs
Each winter, the San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club, in cooperation with many other clubs of District 4-C4 (San Francisco Peninsula) including the primary organizer, the San Francisco Host Lions Club, holds numerous Health Fairs at church parishes, community centers, and other venues throughout the San Francisco and San Mateo counties.

Volunteers are welcome at all of the Health Fairs sponsored by our club:
the GIHW's permanent clinic in San Mateo offering flu and COVID-19 vaccinations
the SF Host Lions/Multi-Club flu clinics in various churches from San Francisco to San Bruno
the Drive Thru Flu Clinic by SF Premier and Kaiser at South San Francisco City Hall
the Health Fair in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate and the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Health Fairs had to adapt to conserve use of personal protective equipment while still adhering to CDC guidelines and best practices. The solution were Drive Thru Health Fairs providing free flu shots outdoors at set locations. This drive-through flu shot clinic is a collaborative effort of the district health fair, Global Initiative of Health and Wellness, the Samaritan House of San Mateo, and nine California Lions clubs of District 4-C4, joining together to provide needed services for our communities.
Samaritan House San Mateo (Oct-Nov 2020)
Led by the District Health Fair committee in partnership with the Samaritan House in San Mateo and the Global Initiative for Health and Wellness.
South San Francisco City Hall (Nov 7 & 22, 2020)
Led by the San Francisco Host Lions in partnership with the City of South San Francisco and Kaiser Permanente.
St. Augustine's Church (Dec 6, 2020)
Led by the San Francisco Host Lions in partnership with the Knights of Columbus.
